The forest of fairy Melusine
Coulumbiers forest, in Lusignan, is inhabited by fairies. The most famous fairy of this forest is Melusine, cursed by her mother, the fairy Pressina, to become a serpent from feet to waist once a week. She would never fall in love until she found a man who agreed never to see her on that day. And this man was Count Raymond of Poitiers, who met Melusine in Coulombiers forest while she was dancing with other fairies. They got married, settled down in Lusignan, and got ten children who were born deformed. One day, Raymond saw Melusine as half snake, she forgave him, but during a disagreement with her, he called her serpent in front of his court, and she turned into a winged serpent mermaid and flew away. It's said that she appeared at the castle, wailing, whenever a count of Lusignan was about to die or a new one to be born. The inhabitants of Lusignan don't forget her ancestor and they're called Mélusins and Mélusines.
Maybe if you go to Coulombiers forest you would met her...
